Ah that was my first guess but was a bit confused. I thought the kid was a flashback to Erens dad eating his father and gaining the power himself then passing it to Eren another way through injection. Eren eating his dad is kinda disappointing. His reentry into the series couldve been interesting

I don't understand the whole touch and remember thing... If Eren's dad could control titans, why didn't he control his son? Does it only work on non shifters?

Yeah the last couple chapters were boring. Im guessing season 2 of the anime is either gonna end with eren being captured or this chapter.
