Dunno if I've given my opinion on an MMO pokemon game yet, but it'd be awesome.

Multiple regions, includes the entire national dex.

Legendaries could pose as raid bosses for special events because we all know legendaries should have more power than a kid (teen) who just started their journey a few days ago)....or at least the average trainer.

The ability to make your own gym leaders, elite 4, and champion (could work as a guild/faction function. Leader poses as champion and admins/mods work as a set or gym leaders and elite 4).

I did have the idea of trainer customization, but with X and Y it's been added, so as long as that stays that's be good.

This one for sure though...the ability to control trainer commanding the pokemon (i.e using the moves) BUT during battle you have control of the pokemon for free roam dodging, etc.

All would work to a better set if it was VRMMO (but such things are probably still years off).

also for those unaware, there is a patch on the eShop right now.  It is required to connect to the internet on X and Y now.  It patches the TSV (insta check) stuff from the game so it can no longer be done.

Hm...yeah I can actually see pokemon working as an mmo. The shitton of pokemon in a multitude of regions(I wouldn venture as far as johto, maybe hoehnn but thats as far as id go) the legendaries as bosses. That could totally work. Nintendo why dont you like money! ?

i dont like the ability to play as pokemon but i do support a dodging mechanism

the only way you can to that without making a super complex algorithm for it is to control the pokemon yourself and that'd be awesome

nah, quick balls are common. Just buy them in the pokeball shop in Lumiose for 1000 poke dollars (or 500 with price reducing O-Power)

well it depends on what you mean by manually.

Every single Pokemon in a game is given a certain number of IVs in each stat (0-31). Six stats in all [HP-ATK-DEF-SP. ATK-SP. DEF-SPD]. Depending on it's IV for THAT stat it will only gain a certain amount. That also depends on it's nature say, if the nature it has has benefits and non-beneficial stats which are determined by a red and blue color. If one is benefited then there's always on that its hindered.

Now lets say you get a pokemon with 5IVs at perfect. I.e: 31/18/31/31/31/31

those stats that have perfect IVs will be boosted to near it's greatest potential. If that stat is beneficial then you could work on pushing that stat to it's absolute max potential by EV training it.

EV training this latest gen has become easier with S.T (Super Training). If you EV train a stat then the amount of points it gains per level increases. If it has 31 IVs in that stat as I stated above, it pushes the stat even further up. As each pokemon has a max stat point for each stat. If it's 31 IVs and 252 points in the stat you want maxed it will (or very closely) reach it's max potential for that stat.

Now more on EV training. EV points can only stack up to a total of 510. 252 per max EVs into one stat. Leave room for 2 stats to get maxed and a leftover of 6 points to be used on any other stat to give it that slight boost it may need.

Damn that sounds complicated. So ev training basically makes it so you get more stat points in a specific stat each time a pkmn levels up? In that way even a pkmn with low defense can overcome its disadvantage. If this logic is correct what would you advocate raising up your weakest stat, all around or going fully on one stat?

Also how does IV training work? Tied to badges, a specific place you go to or?

It's best overall is DEFENSE and it's base damage is around ATTACK (not SP. ATK).

Say it's IVs are the same as the example I posted in my last comment. It's attack wouldn't come out like it should. So you COULD go max EVs for DEF and ATK, but attack wouldn't be coming out as good as some other stats may have.

You could go something like Def and HP for something more of like a tank like pokemon able to take hits, but not deal the brutal damage it would if it was maxed in ATK IVs and EVs
