The Nexus

With the difficulty of fire emblem, and the depth of choice(that impacts difficulty,  no scaling) it seems to be shaping up to something great. I think it was only 3 devs working on it too, ex Bioware.

A cool spin on the turn based tactics combat is having Strength and Armour. The thing is  strength is your Hp as well as your damage. You choose which to attack and that can leave an enemy so crippled his strength stat is useless. Armour lowers the amount of strength damage you take so chipping away at it is a viable alternative to going for the kill if youre fighting a tank.

Heres a short demo. Its the 2nd part,theres 5 total I believe. The hand drawn artstyle is beautiful.

the thing is you have to enjoy action games to like that one, the cutting mechanics were super tight and sleek like anything

try playing it on easy difficulty when you are in rage because of some BS reason and you'll understand the satisfaction of slicing and dicing it provides

storywise it is a clusterfuck but this game you don't play for story

if there is a game from platinum games I think has a solid story it has to be Bayonetta, but that's because the history of the lumen and the umbra is actually related to the many ocult types of groups based in Europe during the middle age that were hunted and exterminated by catholics and his underdogs, including in this ocult groups there was also the real alchemist which I am very fond of, and that's why I think every other Platinum game has to be overlooked on the story department but Bayonetta and even then it doesn't take itself too seriously, reason I can totally play MGR Revengeance and regret nothing

Sorry but I can't enjoy a game where a boss kills you with two cheap shots...
I like a challenge but I consider challenging very different from frustrating.

Bayonetta was good. Sucks that the sequel's on the Wii U only...

I've replayed MGR Revengeance multiple times and I can't recall anybody killing me with cheap shots, but one of the bosses was truly difficult

Yeah but no story means you can play it online whenever you want. You dont have to complete anything, just play.

Really don't like it. it's imbalanced and I miss my attacks most of the time (while my enemy hits me 99% of the time). The armor system is pointless, and the abilities are super weak.

Hm? The armour system is supposed to be there to prevent losing your strength so easily. Arent there hits that dont require chance? Ive also heard that there are attacks that arent heavy on RNG.

Since Chakra has played Fire Emblem before maybe he will have an easier time?

Game isn't very clear on what attacks will hit and for what reason they are likely to hit or not. Tutorial is super basic too, doesn't explain anything beyond moving and attacking.

The willpower system is pretty good though, and I like the art style and the animations.

Didn't see anything like that, just the intro battle and then you can play online. There's no PVE, and no option to even go through the intro again.

Theyve mentioned they are going to add AI battles after they release the SP portion. Along with other stuff like city building.  This was the product of 3 devs Im sure theyll add more content to Factions with time.

There are 4 tutorials according to what ive read on the forum. Ive even seen some on youtube too.

from what I've played of it so far (only up to advanced tutorial and making a team for later) it's pretty interesting on it's play style. Passive abilities to active abilities. The reason you weren't able to hit some players Lone is the higher their shield is over you STR the less chance you have to hit them. So chip away the armor for higher accuracy (not tested).

If you want lone we can vs each other and give it a test against each other. I'm still power level 1 though lol

Factions(multiplayer) is considered a separate game, the single player is part of a planned trilogy. In fact, the way the devs brought about the game was a breath of fresh air. They released the MP first, at the beginning of last year and used the feedback to improve and add to the upcoming single player release.

As for microtransactions in a Q&A one of the 3 developers mentioned thats how they are paying their own salary since the kickstarter funds went into development. Im not a fan of MS but those that buy the renown with real money are paired to play against higher leveled guys anyway.
