it's like a tradition. Many people love celebrating with others and being there for something special that's a once a year event. Witnessing something so big like that can only be explained by being there in person. It's a COMPLETELY different feeling celebrating something you normally watch on TV than in person. I can vouch that for the Thanksgiving Day parade. I was there in person for that back in 2011 and in person. It's pretty much unexplainable in words as to the feeling it is....even you have people trying to push their way up to the front past you. It's pretty much the same as going to a theme park except everyone standing in the same place over a course over 24 hours

I went to a concert a couple of years ago and the kids cramping up against me pissed me off, and that was just a small room. Just looking on tv that looks even worse.

The previous year concert 21 years and over was fine though.

concerts crammed into small rooms like that are MUCH worse cause sound in amplified and everyone being in the same room together makes for an unpleasant time. I'd never go to something crammed into a small place like that. Kinda the reason I didn't go to Hugh Laurie's Jazz concert in Atlanta a few months ago. The only seats were in a balcony pretty far back from stage. Close to the stage everyone had to stand up next to each other. As good as Hugh Laurie's concerts probably are....standing around a large group of others fighting for a close place to stage isn't worth it in a large room of people clustered around one stage
